It is 98% pure pentaerythritol. It is a white crystalline or light yellow crystalline powder that is soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol dissolvable in benzene, ether and petroleum ether. An ester will be formed by reaction with common organic acid. No reaction will take place when it is heated with a diluted caustic solution. It is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that has been used for centuries for its therapeutic and medicinal benefits. Most of the benefits of castor oil are believed to derive from its high concentration of unsaturated fatty acids. Although castor oil has a strong and rather unpleasant taste, it is used in cosmetics, soaps, textiles, medicines, massage oils and many other everyday products.

Applications

TCC’s Castor Oil is the raw material for the production of a number of chemicals, notably sebacic acid, undecylenic acid, and nylon-11. The production of lithium grease consumes a significant amount of castor oil. Castor oil is also widely used as a bio-based polyol in the polyurethane industry. In the food industry, food grade castor oil is used in food additives, flavorings, candy, chocolate, as a mold inhibitor, and in packaging. Polyoxyethylated castor oil is widely used in the food industry. Castor oil has numerous applications in transportation, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries. Calcium Nitrate is also used in wastewater treatment, as a component in the manufacture of concrete, for medicinal purposes in cooling baths, and to store energy in solar power plants.  

Applications

TCC’s Calcium Nitrate is mainly used as a nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture and is produced in granulated form. It is also used in wastewater pre-conditioning for odor emission prevention, and in set accelerating concrete admixtures. The dissolution of anhydrous calcium nitrate is highly endothermic. For this reason, calcium nitrate is sometimes used for regeneratable cold packs. Calcium Nitrate together with potassium and sodium nitrate is used to absorb and store energy in concentrated solar power plants. It can be used as a heat transfer fluid instead of thermal oil.
