15% Increase in Exports Causes Eastbound Chem Rates to Soar
According to ICIS an SPI Marine report said there is no doubt that the 15% increase in exports from the USA has turned the Trans-Atlantic eastbound trade lane into the strongest route amongst the major chemical shipping trade lanes. In the first half of this year, exports from the US to Europe were 250,000 tons ahead of the first six months of 2014.
Business Groups Blitz Targets EPA Ozone Rule
The Obama administration’s smog pollution regulations have provoked the ire of major business groups that are coordinating a multimillion-dollar effort to generate opposition to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ruling according to a Hill article by Timothy Carns.
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has led the organizations for the last two years in a concentrated effort to discourage the EPA from changing its standard for ground-level ozone.
